Playground
Though he was 11 years old, he used to play cricket with boys much older to him.
That day, he was fielding at boundary line.
He dropped a catch in the previous over.
That day, he was fielding at boundary line.
He dropped a catch in the previous over.
Then, he got one more chance to prove his catching skills.
He was running towards the ball in the air which was 20 meters away from him.
Before he could catch it, his hands caught something else.
It was a misfired rocket by the US military.
PS : In Afghanistan , the attacks on thousands of civilians and children has become quite common in the name of "misfired rockets".

Good one mahesh. I was really surprised they way in ended. I thought it was something concerning India.
Would Football be more apt. you can use " the misfired rocket hit him before it hit the back of the net"
your stories have crisp turns that suddenly render them a very serious mood. Its the best part of fiction.
Great job.
