On the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami celebrations, many kids are pretty clad in Krishna's attire for the competition of "Best Child Krishna Contest " .
With cute and innocent looks, attractive peacock plumage on their heads and decorated flutes in their hands , they are mesmerizing the audience.
It is very tough for the selection committee to select the best Krishna.
All the mothers are anxious with speculation and curiosity.
Finally, the announcement read, " The best Krishna is 'Mohammed Arif' " .
PS : Very few people know the difference between Culture and Religion and I bow to all those people who often cross religion borders to join the frolic of culture. Love you India.

Spot on..Truly said.. Amazed..
Loved it..
I just love this post.....
Diversity is the key note of India's cultural heritage and its amazing when people show genuine reverence for each other's religious beliefs. The world salutes true lovers of mankind and a refined culture promotes fraternity. Wish all of us could follow these principles...Happy Janmastami

Very well written. I know a place where people from all religion participate and enjoy all festivals.... It is true. I have spent my entire childhood n college days at JABALPUR. It is a city where Muslim committees make Durga statues for navratra in winters and these r professional ppl who every year make beautiful and innovative durga statue themes for the ( Shradhdhalus ).there are huge cash prizes kept for the best presentation.thousands of ppl from Jabalpur and surrounding places WALK ALL NITE to see these amazing idols in different forms.
At the same time, Bhandaras (where food is cooked for people ) are conducted by Christians too. And anyone can extend their helping hand at such occasions. For the entire 9 days and nites the whole city is awake and streets are full of people. It is an experience of life time to see Durga statues being decorated by Muslims and temples being just adacent to mosques.
I am lucky to have spent most beautiful time of my life at Jabalpur. If u ever get a chance do visit here especially in NAUGURGAS i.e. Dussera time.
Thanks ..u reminded me of such a nice time
:)

Simply wow story!! :)
So true, the lines of religion and culture have been smeared to in-distinction, many cross over from culture to religion and spill blood over it.
Only a few cross over from religion to culture to realize its a beautiful world in here.
Hail India!
Nice post Mahesh.
Yesterday's cover page photo was of a little boy "Rehan Shiekh" dressed as Krishna in Navi Mumbai school.
I could relate.
Nice one! and if this was inspired by a real incident then that's wonderful but such things happens rarely. It's almost impossible.
