Celebrations - 77 Fiction

Note:- 77 Fiction infers to fictional writings bounded to a maximum of 77 words.
Celebrations

The blood on the stone is still fresh, wet and shining...
There are some flowers with kumkum and haldi on their petals...
The holy sacred chants are about to end while the head priest is offering the prasad along with the axe...
The blood drops are falling down slowly from the axe ...
The festival has started ...
but few minutes ago, the same blood drops have sprung out from the neck of a three months old girl child ...

I guess such things aren't in practice now. At least I read such things only in fictions...haven't heard or seen such cruelty in real.

Anyway, nice post. :)

Great message!
@ Nethra : Killing of girl child is prevalent in some places as a religious ritual or witchcraftery or black magic practitioners!

This is very touching.. a 'bloody' message this! Wish the world wakes up..keeps rotating in deep slumber..a little nudge from another planet may wake us all up..

Welcome back after a short pause, have come with a bang again. Its really shameful to sacrifice girl children for religious rituals, but such an open act existed many years back. In the present state of affairs, a girl child is killed even before she is born. Be it traditional or modern, the girl remains to be the focus of the slaughterers. How many men can proudly yearn to have their first baby as a girl? Thanks for the message and have a wonderful Dasshera.

Hay Mahesh,

I am not sure about ofering a child to godess, as per knowledge people offer fish, meat, liquor etc..
And a girl child or virgin was usually worshipped, eventually they make her to consume all the above in order to propitiate Kali and obtain supernatural powers. This sort of puja is called as 'Makara Panchaka Poojalu'
Saying this i may be wrong - i tend to talk with half knowledge :-)
