She waited for him when earthquake had occurred.
His reason was visa problem and the real reason was negligence.
She waited for him when floods had occured.
His reason was being busy and the real reason was priorities.
She waited for him when the roof was leaking.
His reason was that plumber is required to fix it and the real reason was belittling.
She waited for him when their land in the village was encroached .
His reason was that the land wasn't worth fighting and the real reason was flight expenses.
She waited for him when she fell ill due to a virus.
His reason was no flights due to lockdown and the real reason was the fear of contagious virus.
No wonder she always loved her son. He always loved himself.
She was home quarantined and was spending her time looking at wall photo frames while he had changed his whatsapp DP on mother's day with beautiful quotes.
She was waiting for the unlocking of lockdown where as for him there was always a Lockdown.
She has never stopped being a mother and he never stopped being himself .
She has won over the virus but he is yet to look beyond the self imposed Lockdown.
She was asking for love where as he was masking realities .
What is your Lockdown?
Quotations? Or masked quotations??
Sanity or Sanitiser ??

Hey Mahesh, great to see your blog after all these years.
'She was home quarantined and was spending her time looking at wall photo frames while he had changed his whatsapp DP on mother's day with beautiful quotes.'
... A sad reality. Lockdown has really exposed true self of people. Tough times.
Anyway, here's my take:
Unfinished work left in our bags
I wrote almost 5k words to make a comeback, while you write a poem that is deep and conveyed the message perfectly. Mother is always a mother!
Here's my take on the topic - Love In The Time Of Virus: The Lockdown And Thereafter
Someone is Special
Hi buddy ..
Thank you so much for reviving Blog-a-Ton ...
Will read yours ...
An appreciation from an author is very encouraging.... thanks buddy
Hey Mahesh, I enjoyed where you were going with it. I got a bit disappointed it ended so soon. I wanted to read more and that's why I got disappointed. I think we find ourselves in many of these characters. Thank you for penning this. It was beautiful and truthful.
Dear Mahesh,
This is a very emotional poem!
It is heart breaking to read or experience.
Lockdown in a way is a hard-hitting, eye-opening for all of us!
Imagine people dying of Covid, but family people not being able to pay final respects because of the virus. How ironical!
We are dwelling on the likes, shares, feeds and stories. . of social media!
Nothing can replace a warm, tight hug!
An eye to eye conversation with undivided attention.
Multi-tasking all of a sudden feels a disadvantage!
I got carried away.. I guess, I wish u all the best for BAT 59!!
Regards'Megha.
Wow...what an emotional post...gave me goosebumps when I read that it is for a mother...visited your blog after years...thanks to blog a ton...:)
Thank you for your appreciation.
Yes, it ended quickly and it was deliberate. May be I can't explain why.
The reality is very brutal.
Lockdown has revealed our true colours.
As you said, undivided attention is a rarity now.
Thank you.
Thank you so much Chethan.
Welcome to my blog.
Hi Mahesh, well written. The relationships are challenged by the #Lockdown and the hidden truth is coming in open for various people e.g. migrant workers and megacities was one relationship that unfolded in front of us. What happened on social scale also happened in individual lives - as you have expressed. As you said in one of the comments - Reality is Brutal :-(
Hi Aativas,
I agree with you completely.
Thank you.
Quote: "She has never stopped being a mother... " you hit a nerve there. 'One being in a self-imposed lockdown' was a take I had anticipated, but I did not expect such simply put yet hard hitting writing.
True!
Hi Mahesh. It's better not to wait for someone who doesn't care. Lockdown, to look into the positives, has taught many this fact. Move on, don't expect, don't depend. Life teaches you everything. You just need to embrace it. Loved your short , yet gripping poem. All the best!
Hi ...
You have exactly reflected the unsaid things of this post .. I agree with you totally.
Thank you so much.
All the best to you
Nothing can replace the love of a parent. So many of us just take them for granted. Loved reading your poem.
All the best
