Erase a Race

They say, in India, that caste based Reservations are rampant and menacing, and hence, they want to unravel it...

But,

They never want to unravel the caste factor, which is prevalent in every mode of social life, in India, right from rampant untouchability practices, across the nation, to menacing caste based vote bank politics.

By the way, when will God unravel the rampant tradition of reserved caste based access to priesthood and stop the menacing practice of marriage within own caste.

Free Noose

It was night
The noose was tight
With all their might
and towering height

Some were right
Under the White
Some were Left
With their own Light

The old man was quiet
Though he might...
He was bright
with his write .
Great.

It was their right
now everyone's right
It was not a slight
but a giant Fight

From a leap to a flight,
When the light lit
No one was left
Neither Bhagath nor Bose

Again, it was night...
The noose was made lite
For some great Knights
Quite quietly , 1947.

Mask

Is this a mask?

Yes!

Another mask!

Where is the face then ?

It is beyond many masks...

Is that real face?

No. It is a coloured face.

Is that true colour?

No. It is media-shopped....

Is that real media

No. It is masked

Masked by?

Masked by real estate.

Is that estate real

Not just real, it is colorful. it is politically invested and infested

Are you talking about Modi?

No. I am talking about central mask

Are you real?

No. I am also a mask

Colored mask?

No. Plain mask.

Is plain mask good?

It is more dangerous than coloured mask

Why?

Because plain mask can be colored by any color

Am I a plain mask or colored mask?

You are none. You are just a color

Which color?

Colour of price and prejudice

OK. So I am a color and you are a mask. Right?

No. You are a mask but unfortunately you are standing before a mirror.

So I am not colored right?

No. The mirror is coloured

Sure?

Yes. But Your spectacles are also colored

Sure?

Yes. But your eyes are also colored

Which color?

Color of price and prejudice

So finally I am coloured right?

No. You are masked

How come? Which mask?

Masked by color.

I will kill you. Just tell me what is the difference between mask and color

Its You

Where?

In Between mask and color

Completed?

No. Finished.

Straight Nose

They came across from Central Asia...
Carrying rituals and sacrifices , and
Badge of Language
Badge of Chants
Badge of Thread
Badge of Purity

They conquered and converted
The dark and brown plains of India
with stories and Literature
Badge of Language

They controlled and commanded
The tribes and sects of India
with multi theism and mythology
Badge of Chants

They divided and segregated
The works and classes
with divine texts and sacred rules
Badge of Thread

They isolated and marked
The wells and temples
with tradition and sanctity
Badge of Purity

They have darkened our culture
They have darkened our dark skin
They have darkened our identity

We have accepted them
As Hosts and Brothers
But they still think we are a liability

Strive - 77 Fiction

Note:- 77 Fiction infers to fictional writings bounded to a maximum of 77 words.

Strive

14 August 1947...

They took all the pains to hide the tricolour  from the police.
Tomorrow was the day of their dream.
Every village was eager to hold and wave the flag, but brutality and punishment hold them back....
.....
.....
Early hours of 15 August 1947...
........
Those who were ready for the inevitable sacrifices, tried hoisting the tricolour at many public places...
The police caught them and hung them...
Women were stripped...
It was not India...
It was the then Telangana, Hyderabad.

---()---

PS: For Telangana, it took one more year and hundreds of lives, to finally join India. On September 17 1948, the state of Hyderabad got freedom from brutal Nizam's rule.
We are not separatists, we stood for Indian Integrity.

I wish this Dasara brings victory to the struggle of Telangana.

Having a passion for nature, he was happy to have his visit to Srisailam which is abode to famous Shiva temple as well as lush green beautiful tiger reserved forests.

It was his first visit and, as it was a festive time, he couldn't find any lodging.

He enquired with the concerned officials.

They told him there were many caste based community guest houses and asked him, "What is your caste?"

He said, "I am a Muslim".

Lie

Indira, never bothered about price tags, was flushing thousands of bucks in the city's most ostentatious mall...

What mattered her was the brands...

On her way to home, she had stopped by a maize corn cart, lowered her car's window, and asked the vendor, "How much?".

He replied, "5 rupees each, madam..."

"...3 for 10 rupees?", she bargained.

Alive

There are national and international policies and programs to protect endangered species like Tigers, panda etc...

Recent reports reveal that there is one more species which needs attention and focus...

Though every one knows the reason behind the fall in their count, no one hardly bothers about them...

Scientists have named the species as "Indiana-Farmer".

 ----()----

 Live

She used to be very simple with emotional inclination towards societal well being and oneness ...

But, her affinity towards materialistic and consumerist life style forced her into prostitution...

She is so beautiful that customers hardly bother that she has got only one leg...

She is suffering from cancer...

She is not Indira, she is India.

PS : The  word "Indiana-Farmer" is not a typo and i have deliberately used it to represent the Latin nomenclature syndrome of researchers whenever they name something new :)

Sidelines

When you say, "I love India".
Is your love for India or yourself ?

Republic day is around the corner.
Is it the celebration of virtual Democracy or real Oligarchy?

Justice Krishna has showered his magic on Telangana.
Does any one know the difference between a state's separation, bifurcation and reorganisation ?
Anyway, what shall i call the process of claiming an existed state ?

As per congress, our national scams are either real fictions or fictional realities.
Hope, they have clarity regarding what they have achieved on 15 Aug, 1947. May be, they have been executing 'Royality' till now.

Binayak sen has been sentenced as per the law.
Is it the end of natural and social justice or dawn of  Neo-Aristo-Monarchy?

Wikileaks may be useful for many nations but not for india.
Here, it doesnt matter whether things happen in open or they get opened after happening.

When the scams spilled like crude oil,
Had they disturbed the nation or
the nation had disturbed the scam flow?

When the candle blew off....
Had the air disturbed the candle or
the candle smoke disturbed the air ?

Note:- 77 Fiction infers to fictional writings bounded to a maximum of 77 words.

Reap

One more crop failure will send her into the suicide abyss.

Rajamma shows little interest in the now stunted orange trees.

In her, they evoke only the worst of memories.
Their farm headed for its third straight year of failure.

“I don't care about it,” she says, “if the trees die.”
What she did care about, already did.

Her son Shekar took his life less than a week ago, making her life more stunted than the trees.

Why Still?

Because you didn't find luxurious life
in grinning Gandhi's Rupee,
You went in hunting glum faced Washington's Dollar
Then why do you complain about the absence of smiling faces?

Narrow roads.....dirty streets....Narrow jobs,
Because you couldn't adjust in Third grade nation
You built Green Card houses in the land of opportunities,
Then why do you cry about Narrow life?

For you, whatever earns you just rupees is not an occupation
Whatever doesn't lie in the shadow of Liberty statue is not a status
Only to shine among the people of your third grade nation
You made your young brides to cross the seas, overseas.
Then why do you shout hypocritically,
"It is a materialistic World"

Impassable roads with mud holes
People clogging the way like house flies
Because of your aversion to this uncivilized society
You embraced the citizenship of White house
Then why do you feel depressed?
When you open a window,
all you can see is snow rain and no men

You have ignored all those
Fists, which were like waving flags
Poetic bullets, which thrashed the agents of Uncle Sam
While opposing Imperialism
The victims have become stars in the Black sky
For whom are these stomach filled dollar coated bullets?
to provoke how many more such innocent people.
All you need is saluting the stars in Uncle Sam's Flag

Your hidden feelings come  to the surface
when rupee weighs ahead of dollar
The magnified negativity of our soil's dull shades
seems bright only when you catch the recession fever there

Our dark nights have become bright days for you
You have loved the land of colours
mainly, the dollar showering sky
Why do you still sing those cooked tragic songs of separation ?
Why do you still spell those fabricated promises of returning home?
Why still?
Your date of return is always tomorrow, and
Your return flight will never get scheduled
There can be never a brake for this break
Why still?

Return

This post has been published by me as a part of the Blog-a-Ton 14; the fourteenth edition of the online marathon of Bloggers; where we decide and we write. To be part of the next edition, visit and start following Blog-a-Ton.

Return me those days....

When I used to think that Amitabh Bachchan, Chiranjeevi and Kapil Dev were the only real heroes in this world

When running meant bowling and nothing else.

When i used to lick the walls after smelling the first rains

When having an one rupee coin in my pocket means frolic

When switching on a light in a dark room was the scariest thing

When calves were the best friends to share my child talk

When devotion was only meant from prasadam

When every waste object was part of my play in summer

When mirrors had never passed judgement on my looks

When the meaning of success was just taking a wicket

When brands were only for advertisements

When power cuts never hampered my play

When existence of God was an absolute truth

When every bun bought by my mama was the most childiciously special than my earned-branded food now

When the meaning of love was void of lust

When I used to believe completely that, one fine day, Sri Netaji Subash Chandra Bose ji  would be back

When pride meant, only, saluting the tri colour

When i used to sing my own lyrics for every popular song without any shy

When i used to believe that there would exist a woman called "Bharathmaata"

When pissing meant making different parabolas

When wounded knees and elbows were the art of tattooing

When every English movie was  a complete "Cheeeeeeeeeee......"

When playing with bricks in the sand was the most innovative game

When the bus i was traveling should pass over all the lorries on the road

When the most depressive thing would be returning home from my grandmother's village after the summer vacation

When the last period's school bell was the most soothing sound

When progress card was the only enemy

When "Mile sur mera tumhara"  was the best video

When crying meant depleting the last atom of water from my eyes

But I came to know the value of return when i read something about my grand father in my grand mother's diary .....

During 1965 war...

"Mom, where has dad gone? Why he hasn't come yet?"
a four year old boy asked her mom once again
She patted his head slightly
while listening to the radio news
Shadow movements of airplane wings in her eyes
Imprints of artillery sounds were blasting in her heart
In the thick black fog at Kashmir borders
A soldier standing boldly with nerve
stood in front of her eyes

She bothered - Sighed - adjusted her pallu
In between the elegant curve of pride blended with her lip's smile
After standing up from the park bench and supporting her son
She walked slowly and embarked into the darkness

She came to the park, daily, for the radio news
clad in white saree and red sindhoor
with Jasmine flowers in her plaited black hair
Same park, same road, same bazaar, same home
but still she sensed some change with gumption
Everyone was roaming and listening in the park
but still, somewhere, something was wrong

Some news murmurs passed through the nerves of tightly held cities
Blooded pledges were slipping through the gaps of clenched fists
One Movement, one Motility, one Determination---
Symbols of Mercy were awakening gradually

If one nation prefers to move in its own way
The 20th century's civilization will not let it to
Neighbor's goodness provokes the arrogance of wicked people
Neighbor prosperity evokes the hiss of evil heads
Those were the bad moments for Asian blood
History's head was hanging with shyness

They had buried democracy and public voice
Dacoits turned into Dictators
Thats why they couldn't digest India's rise
They would gain nothing with political diplomacy

If we preferred calmness , they called us cat
If we fought back , they called us Tiger
Foul smell diffuses if opportunists open their mouth
leave morals, it becomes politics
hatch a nation with religion, it becomes a wagging mad Monkey
Mutual friendship of Pak and China
it was like bonding between a snake and a wolf
It was not a war between two nations
It was not a war for a piece of land
It was an attempt to protect the values required for the world's future
for independence of thought and individual respect
Freedom from race, colour, caste, creed, region and religion was it's foundation

Every indian was a soldier, every heart was a canon
Radio was delivering the news daily
presenting the voice of victory
Tanks and planes of enemies were being crashed down
the brave and sturdy wave of  Indian army
thrashed them away unto the borders of Lahore

Our nation stood roaring with thunders
Narsappa, Vincent, Afzal, Pratap Singh
and many more anonymous soldiers
were being paid respects and honours by the living blood

She came to the park with her son on that day also
She worn white saree but with out red sindhoor
with out Jasmine flowers in her plaited black hair, no bangles in hand
There was huge rain being stopped at the corners of her eyes
She was pressing the much moving lower lip, under her teeth, very hardly
The canons might have stopped at boders, but not in her heart.
A group in the park were sloganeering, "Jai Hind"

"Mom, where has dad gone? Why he hasn't come yet?"
She hugged her son and his unanswered questions, and
with shivering voice she said deeply, "Jai Hind"
And that word was heard by a warrior in Heaven who would never return
---)(---

When I turned the next page in the diary, there was a newspaper clipping and the print goes...

Reality at Borders...

It is like dying death for everyone
There is a body, an unfortunate body,
It is lying exactly on the border line
Being soaked and baked in snow, it lost it's identity
The buried uniform in snow
torn by the foxes
Then who's this body?

It is a Soldier's body
Which Soldier?
Democratic soldier? or Socialist camp ?
or Imperialist ?
His wife will definitely recognize him
But how to recognise his wife?
How to bid him?
By which nation's slogans
By which army's conventions
Burial or with Fire? Which Religion?
How?

There is one way
Bring all the crying widows from all the countries
Arrange an identification parade

There is nothing to worry
Stop bothering about the body,
whether it will be soaked again by the tears of the widows
leave doubts,  we have seen floods of blood
After all, it is just rainfall from eyes
Arrange barrels for their tears...
and, make those widows to stand in a line
Sir, what if he is a Bachelor?
Then, it will be really a dying death
in fact, a never returning death.
Sir, what if he is an Orphan?
Then, return is a void .

One

On the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami celebrations, many kids are pretty clad in Krishna's attire for the competition of  "Best Child Krishna Contest " .

With cute and innocent looks, attractive peacock plumage on their heads and decorated flutes in their hands , they are mesmerizing the audience.

It is very tough for the selection committee to select the best Krishna.

All the mothers are anxious with speculation and curiosity.

Finally, the announcement read,  " The best Krishna is 'Mohammed Arif' " .

PS : Very few people know the difference between Culture and Religion and I bow to all those people who often cross religion borders to join the frolic of culture.  Love you India.

Boundary - 55 Fiction

Boundary

We are playing cricket in the outskirts of our village...

He is looking at us with apprehension ...

He is hesitating to come near to us...

Obviously, the societal customs are stopping him to join us in the game...

He knows very well about the drastic consequences  ...

Nope, he is not an untouchable ...

Whack, You or Me?

Note : This post is my entry for  Blogadda's   ‘Whack!! this Wednesday’ contest.

I have my culture, tribal
though you say we don't
I don't have civilization
Though you have at their rapid speed
I have never asked you to be like me,
But every step you take
leads to my conversion and
adaptation to urbanization, no no,
its elimination of my culture
Both my language and me are in extinction.
tigers are better treated than me.
Call me dog, but treat me like me

I don't want to whack you,
but..

.................................................................................

I speak my language, rural.
You call it vernacular and native,
and you look down at me ....
You speak their language,
you call it refined and polished though colonial,
You have media, money and manipulation
You rate it higher and feel superior

I don't want to whack you,
but..

.................................................................................

I toil hard with nature, in nature,
That is my nature to give fruits
You toil smart in ACs for them
You take away our fruits for peanuts
You think about every brand
everything in brand
I don't think about any  brand
as long as it is a bowl of rice .
Else, we do have better choice,
subsidized branded pesticides.

I don't want to whack you,
but..

.................................................................................

I wait for it, every year and everywhere
from the sky, from the ground and every way
For you it is their consumer product, in bottles
They suck it from my sweat and blood
whenever you gulp it into your throats.
I dwell deeper for it into many wells
also, much deeper into debts, then
Much more deeper into life , and
Finally out of life, does it matter?
pushing my family into a deeper well

I don't want to whack you,
but..

.................................................................................

I take up all the so called low grade jobs,
with technique and precision
dirty, smelly, stinky and tough, under sun.
You call  it impure and isolate us.
You memorize few strange stanzas, under roof
make it aplomb with rituals and presentation..
And hence self proclaimed sacredness
to grab money, power and respect.

I stop my job,
check whether society moves on
You stop yours.
I bet Gods, it hardly impacts,
neither you sacred lines nor the myth.
Here, you are like Them,
exactly like them,
You are almost them. You are them.

I don't want to whack you,
but,

.................................................................................

But, before I whack, let me tell you who i am
I am one of the group called WE

We are tribes,
we are rural,
we are farmers,
we are peasants,
we are workers.....

We are sure,
We are not "We the People"
We have been neglected and humiliated
in the name of westernized and globalized development.
Then who are We?

We are "We the'y' people".......... But Y ?
Because you and they have media, money and manipulation (3M)

Anyway, I along with the WE want to whack hard
Whack whom?
No, not the you.
We are not like you
We and I  want to whack the system not the people,
who are mere puppets in the hands of system.

Yes, the same system which you have named like
Capitalism, Corporatism , Consumerism, Colonialism. (4C)

But I/we call it Feudalism
I/WE whack Feudalism and
all the 4Cs and 3Ms
out of the seas and borders
but only in books and blogs.

Anyway it is time for them and you to whack me, as usual.
not in writings but in reality, daily and forever.

Whack me, Sir ji! Whack me!

PS : The 'I' in all these stories represent the social 'me' and hence I claim the share in 'I'.
PPS: Thanks to Rachana for passing the Que.

Forest talks...

Like a scattered rough hair
it is a zigzag forest without fear
but seems like a combed hair
in between the green tress

The huts with sleep of solace
are being swallowed by corporates,
only to be replaced and recreated
with modern-artificial-commercial ethnic art
for the privileged gated communities.
Bamboo baskets in posh MNC stores
pour incessant rain of dollars

Now, forest is not about , not about,
Bamboo tress and wild creatures.
It is not about beautiful birds,
not even the hamlets of innocent and ignorant tribals.

Now, forest is filled with sounds of harsh bullets,
where, the god of forest is murdered by Dynamites, and
the goddess of forest is raped by the Khakis.

Forest is standing lonely and desperately,
in front of the courts for weightless natural justice.
Hapless Kids of hamlet are fighting hungrily,
for the left over biryani packets.

The land upon which they are standing,
is being grabbed in-front of their eyes.
Though the lives of hamlets are at crossroads,
forest still awakens at night for GREEN dreams.

Trial and Terror - 55 Fictions

Note:- 55 Fiction infers to fictional writings bounded to a maximum of fifty-five words.

Trial

It is been over one year since the process of prosecution has started...

Every one is eager to hear the judgment over HIS cruel deeds...

Today, after all hearings, the judge proclaimed, 'Death Sentence!'

Every one in the country is happy and welcomed the sentence, including HIM, as HIS suicidal  mission has been accomplished now.
------()------
PS : Instead of hanging HIM, i would prefer to torture him for lifetime in prisons. May be we need few changes in our legal system

Terror

A small girl came across a stranger....

He was in a special dress, with sophisticated  arms and advanced ammunition...
He has got an AK 47 hanging around his sturdy shoulder...

She asked him innocently, "Are you a terrorist or a soldier?"

He responded , "It all depends on which side of the border you belong to..."
 -----()-----
PS: Any ism will start from fundamentalism which leads to extremism first and then converts into Terrorism  ...
